Wie alle zwei Jahre im Februar fand dieses Jahr wieder einmal die Intergastra in Stuttgart statt. Alle interessierten Mitarbeiter des Hotel Wartburg hatten die Möglichkeit, sich über Neuigkeiten auf dem Markt zu informieren.
Die Firma
Althaus ließ uns von ihren köstlichen Tees probieren und auch der
Matcha Tee, der in letzter Zeit immer mehr an Popularität gewinnt hat unsere Zustimmung gefunden. Als purer Genuss etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig mit grasigem Aroma und leicht bitterem Geschmack aber trotzdem lecker und auf jeden Fall gesund.
Was ist Matcha?
Es ist das Blattfleisch der einst grünen Blätter des Teestrauchs, der vier Wochen vor der Ernte im Schatten gehalten wird um einen hohen Chlorophyll-Gehalt und die schöne grüne Farbe zu erhalten.
Man kann ihn pur mit heißem Wasser verrühren, aber auch als Matcha-Latte beziehungsweise Matchaccino. Das Wasser sollte dabei nicht mehr als 80 Grad haben.
Every two years the Intergastra fair takes place in Stuttgart. All interested employees of our Hotel had the possibilities to learn about new articles regarding hospitality and catering.
The company Althaus let us try their tasty teas and also matcha tea which has grown quite popular and found our approval. You have to grow accostumed to the pure taste just mixed with water but it has an odor like fresh grass and a slightly bitter taste, however yummy and absolutely healthy.
What is matcha?
It is the fleshy part of the green leaves of the tea plant which will be kept in the shadow four weeks prior to harvesting in order to obtain a high part of chlorophyll and the beautiful green Color.
You can just mix it with hot water or with milk for a matcha latte or matchaccino. The water should not be hotter than 80 grades Celsius.
Bei der Firma Hantermann haben wir eine
Lesebrillenbox entdeckt, ideal für unsere Rezeption, wenn die Gäste beim Ausfüllen des Meldescheins ihre Brille mal wieder nicht zur Hand haben oder auch im Restaurant wenn es Probleme mit dem Lesen der Speisekarte gibt.
When visiting the Company Hantermann, we discovered a reading glasses box, ideal for reception when our guests don't have their glasses with them and have to fill out the Registration form or in the restaurant when there are problems reading the menu.
Gepa kommt immer wieder mit neuen Produktideen, besonders ans Herz gelegt wurde uns die dunkle Nougatcreme, auch die Waffeln und die Mandelkekse sind sehr lecker.
Gepa has always new product ideas, especially recommended was the dark nougat cream, but very tasty also the Wafers and almond cookies.
Wunderschöne Gemüse- und Obstschnitzkunst konnten wir ebenfalls bewundern. Ein
Carving-Wettbewerb fand gerade statt.

We had the opportunity to admire beautiful vegetable and fruit carving. There had also been a carving contest while we were there.

Wir waren wohl wieder einmal dem Trend voraus, ganz nebenbei haben wir entdeckt, dass Tee und Eistee - natürlich selbst hergestellt - momentan sehr in Mode sind und wir werden auch dieses Jahr wenn es wärmer ist wieder einen hausgemachten Eistee im Glasbehälter an der Rezeption aufstellen.
By the way, we feel as trend setters as we discovered that tea and ice tea - of course hand crafted - are quite a trend right now and we plan to serve our home made ice tea at reception when it is getting warm again.
